Total Communications in MA
I was thinking about the comment that you should attend to the physical messages. While it is true that you need to be aware of this, in my experience with working with agitated people, the keys to the conflict resolution lie in their choice of words.

ukemi or counter?
Interesting question. I haven't thought about it before. My first thought on it:
I am a large guy. I would rather protect myself from injury during the throw, then go from there.

Where PC originated and How it Kills Free Speech
ecalavia,
I think alot of what you are presenting is a result of privacy laws. Less political correctness.
In Washington, we cannot disclose information about substance dependence, or psychiatric care without expressed written consent. The only exception is when the person represents an immediate ...

Where PC originated and How it Kills Free Speech
Indeed it is. Personal resposibilty is not being taught, and I believe that is what was offered is the original thread indirectly.
Someone indicate that you can not change people. I believe Ian countered that you can make them more aware of the consequenses of their "free speech".

I think it will really depend on where you move to. Take the time to search around.
I was lucky enough to find a small group with which to study aiki-jujutsu. They are a good bunch of people and our fees are only $15 per month. A large number of the guys also train in the judo classes offered ...

Dojo Disturbance
As a lower ranking student, I will admit that I have been guilty of being distracted. Frequently, I have found that a particular blending move opens up a technique I learned with another blending move. A light bulb goes off and I repeat it because I now have a better understanding of the instruction ...

I guess I am not sure. We discussed trigger point injection so that is what I believe he did. After reading Ian's post I have more questions. If all the injection has done is reduce the inflammation, It seems that I am going to have to find some specific excersizes to strengthen and stabilize the ...
