Chris, It was great to meet you and thanks for the kind words!
I'm delighted that you had a good time. We're still a new club and there are lots of tweaks for us to learn and make before we become a mature club. We enjoyed having you and getting your insights and perspective. Every club seems to ...

Can anyone send me a student risk disclosure form?
Hi, we're opening a new club and are looking for a good risk disclosure form for our students to sign.
Can anyone point me to one I can use?
You might call them "limited liability" forms or whatever, but its the form that says "Don't sue me if you rip your fingernail".
Much appreciated!
Rob

Thanks for the posts...and the good points...so really, consensus is the route down the middle I guess. Exercise the mind AND the body equally.
And that makes sense.

And I'm of two minds on this.
One the one hand, I would think if you wanted to get great at something, practicing in the closest possible simulated conditions (ie perhaps sparring) should be the best training?
On the other hand, I've heard that sparring and tournament fighting creates bad habits ...

What do you think is more powerful?
So for that unexpected street fight that everyone always talks about...
Two different ways to train.
Contestant 1 does all the physical stuff. Tons of sparring, technique applications, learns dozens of takedown moves, runs 10k regularly, hundreds of situps, goes to tournaments etc.

Yes Master Mattson, maybe we're too quick to dismiss the old masters and give them enough credit. (Not referring to you, of course with respect to your age or not giving credit 8O ).
Just because they didn't clearly explain/understand it in "Western" ways doesn't invalidate the process they used or ...

Here's a thought - maybe athletes (ie the baseball or tennis example) figure out how to achieve tachypsychia first - and then become top performing athletes second. (?)
Also it wouldn't surprise me if many athletes can't clearly articulate to others how they get "there" (tachypsychia) ... but they ...
