Season's Greetings

Post by Victor Smith »

For the season I would like to return to a currently favorite topic,From Itoman Morinobu's book `Toudi-jutsu no Kenkyu' in the section on varieties of kicking he makes the following distinctions IMO not frequently described today.

"Flying Steps

Flying steps refer to techniques performed while in the air.

Types of flying steps

Flying Cut

This technique is used to leap over a barrier or obstacle, or to run and leap up to strike down on an opponent. "

This speaks that the outdoor environment was very much past of the training. This reminds me of a kicking technique developed by Mr. Lee of my program.

Outdoors Mr. Lee would run up trees to use this kicking.

Something to think about Itoman's book.

While I celebrate Christmas, whatever your needs, may you enjoy the end of the year holidays should you celebrate them. And if not enjoy this thought in Peace, by any means.

Merry Christmas,
