Hello All Referees, Judgers, Competitors, Parents, Everyone:
I hope everyone had a great summer. Its now time for the Uechi / Shohei Ryu Kids Tournament series to begin its new season. The first tournament of the Season will be the “New England Junior Championships”, which will be held on Sunday, September 28th. The promoter of the event is: Raffi Derderian. The tournament is offering over 90 division specially designed for all Uechi / Shohei Ryu practitioners.
This event is a fully sanctioned by the IUKF, “International Uechi Ryu Karate Federation”, and professionally certified and trained IUKF Referees and judgers will staff all divisions and rings. This is sure to be an outstanding event for all kids and their parents alike.
This will be one of only four events that will be held over the course of the year. Each child that competes will receive points and those that win one of the top four places in their respective divisions will win addition points. The top point winners in their respective divisions will be named the United States Uechi / Shohei Ryu grand champion, at the end of the tournament year.
NOTE: There have been a couple of rule changers to the IUKF tournament rules during the off-season. Below are the new rules.
1-Competitors can perform any Uechi / Shohei ryu kata they select to in form division.
2-Competitors can enter as many divisions as they select too.
Note: To all certified referees, please wear your official uniform is you have one to this tournament.
