"I Am"

Postby JohnC » Sun Mar 07, 1999 4:48 am

Just wanted to share a poem by my 14-year-old daughter Courtney:

" I AM "

I am anything,
I am everything.

I am blissful and
untouchable
I am beautiful, and
unbreakable

I am delightful and
pleasant

I am unique and
individual

I am
I am
I am

I walk with grace
and beauty,
and take each
step
with
inspiration.

I am strong, and I
am
ruthless.

I make no errors, and
I am blessed with
perfection.

I am human and
real.

And I, will fly.

I am.

Thank you for sharing her beautiful poem, John. I didn't discover my own personal "I am" mantra until the past year. How wonderful for her to feel her essence at such a tender age.

JohnC,

Sounds like your daughter has a strong sense of self. You must have done well in supporting that.

Jackie, Anthony, David:

Thanks for your kind words. As anyone who has had teenagers can attest, you nurse these stray bits of wonderfulness!

Now, if I can just get her to clean her room ...

As the Navajo people say, hozho(hozro) or:

Walk in beauty,
JohnC
