"When you lose the Spirit of Repetition, your training will become most difficult."

I must strive to bring strength and vitality to my kata so that boredom doesn't set in my bones.

When we train, "let our fire burn brightly" and completely ... so that there's nothing left at the end."

As David says so succinctly ... "train until you sweat no more."

Musings on a Winter's Soltice..thoughts garnered from Suzuki's book on Zen Mind.

In the hustle and bustle of this Holiday Season, this is a gentle reminder for me to stop and allow the power of silence to enter my training. To really expereince the power of moving meditation or Sanchin ... the mind must let go of my thoughts and experience the breath without attachment.

Blessings to all and may you find your naturalness through your expression of Karate.

Yes. Don't lose the "spirit of repetition." But recognize also that in reality, nothing gets "repeated" exactly. Each moment is different and requires our awareness and attunement to what is.

"To be a warrior is to learn to be genuine in every moment of your life." -- Chogyam Trungpa.

Blessings for you.
