SANCHIN KATA
As I bow to the ancestors,
I draw my breath inward,
Clearing my mind with each release.
I stand ready, empty, waiting to
Move to the center of my essence.
Upon an inner command
I move like the wind …
My naturalness unfolding
From the coiled snake inside,
Ready to spring, to strike, to explode
With precision and passion.
The white crane descends,
Embracing me in the softness of her wings.
Under the watchful, shining eyes of the tiger
I move fluidly, purposefully, strongly.
The dragon awakens with a thundering roar
Stirring the fires of my hara and
Consuming the darkness, the fears, the resistance.
I am ready to face my moment of truth …
My moment of victory.
There is no other way.
