Sogni
Che cosa sono i sogni
se non il viaggio segreto
sui sentieri dei desideri,
il volo della fantasia
sulle nuvole basse
che velano il nitido azzurro ?
Un sogno e' un cioccolatino
che l'anima gusta, golosa,
libera dal peso del corpo
che, steso sul letto, riposa.
L'aroma e il sapore di buono
rimane sulle labbra al risveglio.
La notte abbandona la scena
e sfumando, dipinge sul viso
un riflesso d'arcana magia
che e' racchiuso in un lieve sorriso.

Dreams:
What are dreams if not the secret travel on the paths of desires, the flight of the fantasy on low clouds what veil the clear blue?
A dream is a chocolate morsel that the soul tastes, greedy, free from the weight of the body that rests spread out on the bed.
The aroma and the taste of good remains on the lips to the awakening.
The night abandons the scene, and vanishing, it paints on the face a glare of mysterious magic enclosed in a light smile.
{snip}
The English language doesn’t quite capture the beauty of the sentiment and the caressing sounds of the words of this Italian poem.
