This impressed me so I am passing it on. Everyone will get the point, for some of us it will sink in a bit deeper.

There are two days in every week that we should not worry about. Two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One is YESTERDAY...with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed-forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed, nor can we erase a single word we've said...Yesterday is gone! The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW... with its impossible adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is beyond our control. Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splender or behind a bank of clouds-but it will rise. And when it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn. This leaves only one day, today. Any person can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad-it is the remorse for something that happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow might bring...Let us therefore, live one day at a time.

I believe this, even if I go out and practice my putting, preparing for tomorrow's golf game, it does NOT help. I still can't putt!

You must remember the Slide Rule? I immediately thought of that as I read your post. The length of the slide rule is life. It is full of unsolven formulas and mysteries. The slide rule has a clear piece of plastic that one moves over it. That cleat plastic "window" has a thin black line inscribed in it.

When the pieces of that mathematical wonder are lined-up in the desired position, this is where you will find your answer. The rule is lifem the clear plastic is a window to "near" times, and the hairline is NOW, and that is where the answer lies. Look anyplace else and one is lost in the universe.

But we re all fallible, weak human beings, and will always remain prisoners of the anxieties of yesteryear and the apprehensions of tomorrow.

That is, except you, my friend. You have taught us and continue to teach us what's really important in a man's life.
