Politicians know nothing about martial arts (see the nunchaku comments previously). Therefore, they will need help in determining what makes a qualified school. Who is qualified to teach. Who can test for Dan rank etc.

You can bet that those tenth degrees will be called upon to give their Grand Master expertise. They will be glad to step up and grab control of something they do not deserve and have not been able to get through their own associations.

So will the NJ Uechi Ryu stylists need to learn TKD forms? Don't be surprised! Act now! There are people out there using fear mongering -- Child molsters! and hatred -- Possible HOMOSEXUALS! to slam this through. Even thought there have been few real problems in martial arts schools compared to day cares etc.

Do not be fooled into thinking that this will keep out the scam artists -- they may well end up running the show!

Rick, There may come a time when the martial artist will need to do some serious lobying, maybe in the near future, to protect his interests.

Hello All,

Perhaps the notion of non-interference stems from the idea of natural selection. Maybe those incapable martial artists will eventually be killed off with only the strong practitioner's left: survival of the fittest. Just a thought.
