In my opinion, the best handgun is dependent on the comfort of the user. They're all good, they'll all kill you. We all have different size hands, different bodies in which to conceal and carry, different clothing that we wear for work or by choice. Everything depends. Best thing, but hardly practical for most, would be to join a gun club, make friends with everyone and try out as many pistols as possible. Ease of access and being able to hit what you mean to is what counts for self defense. We're all going to have our likes and dislikes. Every man has a favorite tool.

That safety bullet is interesting and inventive. But I'm never having a gun with any kind of locking mechanism on it. Ever.

As for bears....bears!?!?! You guys are crazy! I ain't going near no bears!

I am with you Otto.

Problem is if for some reason the police must enter our homes in an emergency and find an unsecured gun, especially a hi cap mag gun...we will be charged and will lose our license.
