Great.

I understand Rory will be at our Summer camp in Plymouth for the entire three days.

Here is one camp nobody would want to miss. A new fantastic, convenient and comfortable location, no more sunburns...lots of great historical places to visit [Plymouth Rock etc.] and of course Rory Miller...the consummate tactician.

You blend your 'old time' Uechi with the new/modern tactical. :)

I'll need a few days to process Rory's visit here -- we had him for three full seminars: 'Logic of Violence', 'Ambushes and Thugs'; and 'Conflict Comunication'.

What a great way to round out the reading!!

And what a game changer.....

One of the chapters in Rory's book deals with retaliation…something I believe not too many of us give much thought when envisioning a street fight.

One damn thing for sure is that if the police arrive or you contact them to report what happened…you will lose your anonymity. The police, at the very least, will fill out a report that also reflects your personal information, and the report will be accessible to all the parties to the fight especially if under subpoena.

So the bad guys will know who you are and where you live.

He writes that some things aren't over when they are over_ that the people you fought may have families, gang's affiliation, local politicians or law enforcement friends and relatives.

You will have to worry about your family's vulnerability, how careful you need to be in your daily comings and goings, you will need to check your car like never before, you will have to be concerned of places you visit, the times of the day you are out and about, possible ambushes, certain places to avoid, even certain roads you usually travel on.

Think about this:

Did you embarass them in front of their families, friends, peers, on the street?

This could be a problem even in the dojo where even a student of yours could harbor deep resentement if he felt you had made him look bad in front of his wife and kids watching the class. There have been such incidents.

On chapter 4 now. Yeah, I'm taking my time, and actually doing some of the mental exercises. Some are new, some are old, but all worth it.
Life begins & ends cold, naked & covered in crap.
