Van Sensei,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.

I came across these two demonstrations this morning that were performed at the 2012 WKF World Championship recently held in Paris. Ohhhh what a treat they were to wake up to. :D If you haven't seen them yet, I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I did.

The clips speak for themselves, but watching them, honestly, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in knowing that this is the quality and calibre of Uechi-Ryu that is being showcased for the world to see. Narahiro sensei is one of the most dynamic and well rounded Uechi masters in the world, no doubt, but his kata here is truly examplary and would be IMHO, simply one of the finest in the world today - hands down (if I can be so bold). His timing and rhythm changes; the precision of his technique and the sheer speed and power of their delivery make this a rare performance. Watching them this morning made me want to run to the dojo and get busy training, ha!

I'm sure the followers of this forum will surely appreciate it.

Hi Chip,

Happy holidays to you my friend. Thanks for posting the clips. I share with you the sense of pride in our system so well represented by the Shinjio family on the world stage.

None but the very best.
