Your enemies define you

I found this very interesting:

From Suarez International
Your Enemies Define You

When you are beginning in your professional life or business, you really have no enemies. You hang out with your friends, and others that share your world view. You may have small disagreements here and there...the odd schoolyard fight (I think they still have these), but enemies? No.

However, the more prominent you become and the more successful you become, those petty and meaningless disagreements will become larger. Often the result of jealousy or fear, they will drive others to become your enemies.

I don't normally listen to U2, but their song Cedars of Lebanon came on and the lyrics struck me, and inspired this article.

"Choose your enemies carefully 'cos they will define you
Make them interesting 'cos in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning but when your story ends
Gonna last with you longer than your friends."

I suppose we can classify enemies as well as Primary Enemies, Formative Enemies, and Past Now-Irrelevant Enemies.

Consider as well...the Chinese proverb - "The strength of your enemies does you honor".

Primary Enemies are those with whom you would have a battle to the death upon sight. They may be specific people, or members of a group, but their existence on earth is what keeps us training as warriors because ...one day...

Formative Enemies are those whose actions against us, have molded us to be who we are...either as businesses and/or as men. They may either be Primary or Irrelevant.

Past Now-Irrelevant Enemies are those who have wronged us...whom we no longer care about as they are truly irrelevant...but whom we would probably watch drown in mud as we held the rope to their salvation. No ill-will, simply an indifference about them and their lives.

Define your enemy, name him, and then realize that the complete antithesis, is you.

So, who are your enemies?

reminds me of someone....he says he has "his list" of people "that if he ever comes across again".....

i do not doubt him for a second, but for myself i find time changes a lot of things, im just glad i am not on that list.
the wierd part of life is sometimes fierce enemys can become your friends and people closest to you can become your enemies. i have had both happen.
i think it was frank sinatra that said "the best revenge is massive success"
