Good kitty. Animals are people, and people are animals.

Great video. Hard to believe how smart cats really are.

My cat attacks a dog across the street as soon as he enters my property and comes over to me to be petted.

I guess my cat is jealous...Image

 I am a cat/dog person. Van, your cat has a wonderful expression that exudes "personality".

I was thinking about how time spent relating with animals always seems to have an effect on the way I experience life, in that moment. It is as if the absence of a shared language and culture, the difference in experience and perception allows a different type of quiet clarity of friendship.

It is a blessing that we have so many different types of companions and teachers in this world. Some animals will accept us for who we are, as we accept them, and they have the ability to teach us about a part of ourselves that may be temporarily lost or forgotten in the maelstrom of modern human society.

Good post Sean and well said, I agree.

As to my cat ... Image

He is a beautiful feline and very intelligent and loving.

I adopted him from a foster home where I learned that he had been abused so bad [some bastard kicked him so hard driving his testicles into his belly] that he was recovering from surgery.

The foster mother said this cat did not like men because of what he had suffered.

But when she put him on the bed and I sat close to him and began to stroke his chin and talk to him, he began to nuzzle me looking for more...so it was love at first sight.

So good. 8)

We found a starving puppy with a huge belly full of tapeworms, by the side of the road in the badlands of Mexico. We smuggled it across the border under my mother's dress, her pretending to be pregnant. Then we realized she was some kind of wolf/coyote/dog thing. Nothing bad ever comes from allowing ourselves to love for no reason at all.

I would caution anyone reading this however, to avoid the ferret. We let two of them adopt us, only to have our hearts stolen from right under our noses. Avoid eye contact, and quickly walk away, for they are nothing but rogues.

You feed a dog and look after him and the dog thinks " He Must be God"
