Goju ryu ? MA?

Post by Noah »

looking for goju ryu dojo in boston/brighton area. Interested in flexible training space focusing on competition sparring/kata. I recently checked out a shotokan dojo full of kids endlessly drilling kihon. I wonder if there is a place for competitive adult training. Any suggestions highly appreciated! Thanks

Theres a goju school in Plymouth on Main street I believe.
But when in Mass why not train in Uechi? It's all over and the quality is high.

Noah,

One of the more traditional Goju schools in the area is located in Watertown, MA - right near Boston. I believe the sensei is Markarian (sp?). It is on one of the main roads and is under (I think) Okinawan Karate. Probably is in the phone book. Sorry for not being exact, but it has been a long time since I was in that area.

Thanks Mike! I found some info on Anthony Mirakian the other night. Turns out he is the only North American outside of Okinawa that holds Kudan (9th degree) Hansei as top honor. He might know a kata or two. I think I'll check out his dojo. Thanks again!
