Naihanchi

Post by Malcolm Wagner »

I have Sensei Pantazi's "Kyusho Jitsu" grappling video, and in it he states that he centers his grappling theory around the kata Naihanchi. Does anyone else use this Ancient Okinawan kata for grappling. My style of Isshniryu practices the kata, and I can see how many of the moves can be interpreted in light of ground-fighting.

Any ideas?

Naihanchi

Hello , I use kata i believe are derived from Naihanchi , the Tekki forms in Shotokan , these do form a lot of the base for my infighting grappling foundation , I do hope this information is correct as ive never seen Naihanchi and have only heard it might be the inspiration for these three Katas , If they are there is a good book on the applications written by Elmar Schmeisser , this is all of the top of my head so please forgive me if i`m wrong , and feel free all to correct me .

good luck and happy training
