Hi Guys,

As I clearly wrote before, I am confused about the description of the forum and the actual content. No harm meant. Also, as you can see from my number of posts, I am brand spanking new and haven't contributed (if that's what I'm doing  ) much yet. I'm still getting to know this site as there is so much good stuff here.

I don't really care if it's military history or a recipe forum, I just saw a big disconnect between what's described and what's actually here. It's not like we're fighting cancer. Being a history buff as well, I do like the content. I think it's been relatively cleared up for me. Thanks.

See you in the funny papers and Merry Christmas! :x-mas:

Dale and Wes:

You both are always welcome on this forum.

The points made were well taken.

I,frankly, had diverged considerably from the stated intent to fit the forum around my areas of scholarship and study, and, If I hit a current eveents matter that would attract readers, yes, I went with it.

Having said this, you both are welcome always, period.

At least as to my posts, they will follow Western warfare more than Western "individual" martial arts.

I actually have been looking for a fencing instructor. My daughter's "beau' is relatively accomplished and I have promised him a "quid pro quo" (which would gain me another student as well

I have recently begun SAS Shooting, my Handle there is "Yellow Jack", I'' talk about the format of this "art' when I am a bit better at it.

Thus far I am at the level of the "Mythbusters" last knight trying to disprove that a quickdraw could clear the leather and fire 5 shots before a coin on the back of the shooters left hand (arm parallel to the ground) hit the ground after release.

They were a danger to themsleves and all in the vicinity (fortunately they were using blanks) until they called in a genuine #1 "gunfighter class shooter.

He at least managed to clear between two and three shots before the coin hit.

That rates a 'wow;.

With respect

John
