CD Ripping

Tony,

Any ideas on the best ripper? I just bought Audio Catalyst and want to compare it against something.

Pretty neat; 10 hours on one CD.

The shareware version worked, but the 'real' version fails. Any ideas Chuck?

Allen,
What "failed" ?
The install or the program it self?
I have seen the install work fine and the program not work at all it was looking for some dll that doesn't exist at all.
Even after searching a working a machine with Audio catalyst installed we can't find the dll. Hope to hear from you soon.
Take Care,

Hello Chuck.

The problem occurs when I Grab. The Message Box of Death appears and that’s the end of it. Mucked with all the controls and synchronization mechanisms but to no avail. Same on two machines and four CD drives total whioch included two R/W drives and one SCSI.

Hmmm I've never seen that message before.
I too have run it on a couple machines with different configs ( 2 scsi 1 ide 1 scsi is a r/w & 2 ide).Pretty much default settings. The only thing that comes to mind is the atapi layer don't ask why but i have seen this affect CD-R's and some ripping programs.
I'll muck with mine and see if i can get a error.
Take care,
Chuck
