Blank Screens

Post by Topos »

Scott: Could not see lastest demo of Uechi Conditioning. Bo/Bo Clip ok at each setting (ISDN, Broadband). Gary Khoury's Sparring Blank screen but sound. Most WMVs give streaming garbage on browser, while the Media Player does play .wmv. All VidMags are blank screen. Seem to remember that I could accesss more in past than now. Still can view Al Michaels doing Sanseiryu. Hope you can solve this mystery. You now see why in my pevious life I evolved to the stage of hiring S/W contractors such as Boeing and McDonnell Douglas to develop my systems.

Most appreciative.

Found this at: http://www.colight.com/systemreq.htm

Mac Users: There is a version of Windows Media Player built for Macs. Find it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp, and check the left side nav bar for the media player files. I believe Mac's version 6.4 will play the version 8 clips. Colight.com has many Mac visitors.

Early IE browsers and Netscape may have trouble identifying the file type so you will need to right click and save as a file, then open it with Windows Media player. The new IE versions have no problems. Some early versions of Media player will need to be updated also. This can be done by visiting the Microsoft Update page <A HREF="http://www.nzjetboating.com/mpeg.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.nzjetboating.com/mpeg.html

My best guess is to make sure your machine has the latest plugins, or codecs to play wmv or asf files. Or try right clicking the wmv files and saving them to your computer and playing them offline. Can you view Real Media files? I do not want to use quicktime files because they are too big. And when you compress them to be smaller they play and look like sh*t. Also, can you play any wmv file?
