Sushi making lessons will be offered at the first ever Bridgewater Martial Arts Festival at beautiful Shipyards Landing on Bridgewaters LaHave River June 24.
6 different styles of Martial arts have joined together to promote the Martial Arts as a family festival with food, demos, games, draws and music.
A plug I know...but healthy food is involved

Once in Bridgewater it is down river from town bridges 2 km on King street (easy find)

June 24th 10 am- 3pm if weather is good and we know it NEVER rains in NS
Bake goods, silent actions, draws, childrens games, demo`s and BALLOONS!
The Martial Arts Family Day Festival is the result of a caring Karateka who wanted to raise funds to help support a 14 year old boys trip to the Canadian National Karate Championships in NewFoundland. She managed to get six different martial arts styles to take part in creating a n event that is not only a fundraiser but a means of showing the community the beauty and diversity of the Martial Arts without any political issues during the organization of the event. Bottom line...it reinforces my belief that Martial Arts can be protrayed in a broader scope than what the public has in past.
PS. I think the Destroyer in background is an American ship on a beer run

Leo, how did things turn out? Did the rain postpone it or did you go ahead. If you got rained out is there a rain date?

:)

We had to bring it indoors, less turn out from public as not visible. However, it was a big success as turn out from 6 different styles ( Tai Chi, Uechi, Chito, Arnis, Judo, Tae Kwoon Do) without any hint of politics. 8) All gave a demo followed by a training session...feedback was very positive and looks like positive growth. Thanks for asking :D
