I had this posted on Bill's and should have had it posted here:

Chocolate Cake anyone (to drink?) I went out this weekend and did something I rarely do: drink too much. Now for me, that isn't stinking drunk. For me that is to the point where I do things with less inhibition. I think I only had a total of four drinks but for me that is a lot. I get teased about being a cheap drunk. I am very susceptible to alcohol....which may be a good thing.....or, if not careful, could be a bad thing????

I had three Gin and tonics and a marvelous "Chocolate Cake", which is designed to be a 'shooter'. The one they made me had the edge of the glass coated with sugar, probably after putting lemon juice on it so it would stick.

Oh my, it was incredible and truly tasted like chocolate cake, and had absolutely nothing chocolate in it. My somewhat crazy behaviour won't be mentioned. Recipe to follow:

Prepare in a shot glass:

1/2 shot vodka
1/2 shot Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
Slice and have ready:

One slice of lemon per shot
Place on a small plate:

Two tablespoons of sugar per shot
To take the shot take one slice of lemon, dip both sides of it in the sugar. Now lick the sugar off the lemon (don’t swallow it yet), take the shot, swallow, and bite the lemon slice.

Some people taste the chocolate when they take the shot, others when they bite the lemon, but everyone tastes chocolate cake when they try this. Just make sure you keep the order straight.

That sounds really complicated, wouldn't shots of Bailey's be easier? :P

Actually, want delicious and easy? Just mixing the two together, put in a glass with shaved ice, and sip......although I did rather like the sugared edge on the glass.

I have another one for you guys that is more suitable for the cold. It is called a Gamblers Coffee. It has been one of my favorites for many years, especially in the winter. Make this in a nice sized mug.

3/4 cup of coffee
1 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Grand Marnier
Big dollop of whipped cream

Add Kahlua and Grand Marnier to the coffee, stir. Top with whipped cream and enjoy. You may want to cut back the alcohol to half because it is pretty strong but oh so yummy!

Regards,
Vicki

That is an unfair publicity ploy, designed to advertise this year's camp!!!

Save one of those "Gambler's Coffee" for me! :)

ps. Wonder if the Maritime Academy chef will put it on the menu????

That is a promise to you, George. If I can't find someone to make you one, I will make you one myself.......outside of camp, of course.

......see you at camp.

Regards,
Vicki
