Walks

Post by emattson »

For the first time, I walked the full length of Wollaston Beach in Quincy, MA—2.3 miles long. The northern border is a saltwater marsh barrier. A river flows at the southernmost border. While walking on the soft sand, I discovered that the low impact and resistance make excellent leg strengthening exercise. The sloping beach with soothing wave noises mask heavy traffic, create a peaceful atmosphere. It is considered a blue space, a large body of water known to sooth and improve mental health in according to studies.

Obviously, not everyone has access to a beach. For instance, people living in central Florida has no beaches nor hills. I’m curious to hear what they use as a good substitute for beaches for strengthening exercises.
