Personally, I feel that if you are an elected official, and therefore a representative of the public trust, and you betray
the public trust which represents the people, and you do so willfully and without regard to consequences, the penalty should not be 10 years in prison, but rather death.

The crime:

High Treason

What do you think?

And what are they doing about all the people that bribed him? He should have a grand list of people who also need a swift kick in the a$$. Meanwhile, while I probably wouldn't kill him for this offense, it annoys me to no end that this loser will be eating up more tax dollars rotting in jail. Can't we at least sell his paired organs to recoup?

Well I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but I agree that white collar crime is way under-penalized compared to crimes associated with poverty.

As a side note, I think it's hilarious that they always get these people on tax evasion. It just seems funny to me that we tax income that's illegal in the first place.
