Alkalize or Die!

book by Dr. Theodore Baroody.
There are so many confusing theories about the way the body operates. This not only applies to the orthodox medical community but to the alternative health community as well. Few systems have a workable philosophy that is more than a mass of disassociated pieces of body physiology compiled by "publish or perish" experimentalists.

The Hindus and Chinese, on the other hand, have well delineated healing philosophies that incorporate all manner of knowledge. But the problem is that although they work beautifully, it is not feasible for the lay person to spend the many years required to understand and apply these philosophies when one simply has a cold.

My viewpoint is founded on ancient Hindu and Chinese healing philosophy and on the works of several great modern men in the field of health. I have attempted a major integration using alkaline-acid biochemistry as a common platform.

The chemical basis of alkaline and acid-forming reactions in the body is not some mysterious process. A simple understanding of it provides a reliable way to prevent health problems from occurring or to correct these conditions. When I first started recognizing incorrect alkaline/acid balances as the underlying cause for the pandemic health problems we face, I became determined to reveal this as clearly as I could.

This book and it's concepts are so heinous I don't know even where to begin....

But one place to perhaps start is the "reviews" section of the book:

It reads like a who's who of nutbar-ness.

I will provide instead, and excellent resource for those who wish to have a tool to begin the journey of debunking these frauds and delve into the world of rationale, logic, and sanity once again.

Quackwatch.org is run by Stephen Barrett who I believe is de-licensed and has been charged with racketeering and other legal problems- I think he was exposed as a fraud for claiming he was a "legal expert" although he had no formal legal training and it appears that he has himself filed claims of defamation in court against over 40 people and lost every case. It appears that he might be an actual MD, and worked as a psychiatrist for a while - and claimed he was a "board certified psychiatrist" - but in one of his court failures under oath was forced to admit he was not board certified - HE FAILED THE BOARD TEST....HA.

I publish only a partial list of his losses, humilations and personal embarassments. In a way it seems he is a legal expert - he is an expert on how to lose in a court of law regarding health claims etc. I mean, he even lost a lawsuit of his in his own hometown. There used to be some guy at Ebudo.com that was a real Barrett brown-noser -some Judo guy.. Don something. There are indeed arguments against some alternative healing methods, but qouting Stephen Barrett as some source of logic and honesty is certainly tantamount to asserting oneself uneducated - believing in Barretts mess is to assert ones own dupability. It seems the guy is very dishonest and lacks integrity - in my humble opinion - but check it out yourself at these links (don't worry Metablade the links are free):

I have not read any books on the subject, but the idea makes sense on a homespun sort of level. As a pool owneer I know the first thing you have to do is balance the alkalinity and acidity or the rest of the chemical processes don't work right - chlorine etc.

Just to be clear, because I am not certain what point is trying to me made here, please correct me if I am wrong in assuming:

~That you are correlating and authenticating the concept which chemical levels in the human body and a swimming pool are in any way similar?

BTW:
Did you read the contents to the court complaint link which you posted?
Do you understand what the document says or what it's about?
~Or, did you just do a 2 second Google search for Stephen Barrett, scan for something that appeared negative, and then slap the link in the post for effect?

(In the event if the link is removed, it lives here:)

Next time, it may help to actually read the posted material before you decide to post it.
The real story is here, complete with at least *some* refering material so that one can at least attempt to verify or dispute the information. Which I may add, is something his detractors probably won't readily provide.

P.s. Can we *try* to keep this on one thread?

Two minor comments:

1) The psychiatry boards are hard, and pretty random (oral part at least). Your fate is decided by 2 people who make a subjective call. Usually foreigners fail. They're doing away with this biased test as we speak.

2) Pools need our help to control their chemicals. They are not alive. Humans regulate their own chemistry in ways developed over billions of years. Your respirations control your pH moment to moment; your kidneys control the excretion of acids to maintain your bicarb levels as needed. Complicated buffer systems protect the balance.

I am aware of no data that healthy people need pH help, but maybe some exists, and we do know that people with kidney and lung disease especially have imbalances.

GEM's post regarding the acid/alkalinity question can simply be regurgitated into the fact 95% of all degenerative diseases represent an overall acidic condition in the blood and fluids. This can be easily tested by the use of litmus paper with a ph range of 6.0 to 8.5.

If someone has a chronic disorder and if it especially effects the muscles or joints (ie. arthiritis, chronic inflamation) you can take this test:
1. During the first morning urine, mid-stream, place the end of a litmus paper strip into the stream and then determine its ph on the provided scale.

2. Take another strip and place this into your mouth and get it wet with saliva.

3. Compare the two strips...If they are not the same color (resulting in the same ph) you will find the strip dipped into the first morning urine to be more acid, thus a lower ph reading than the saliva moistened strip. This is because we all dump acids esp. after sleeping, when the body seeks to rejuvinate itself.

The more chronic and degenerative your health issue the greater and longer standing will be the difference in color and number assigned to the ph of the two strips.

(On the side...Anyone wonder why ph strips change color related to acidity and alkalinity?)
THE ANSWER IS...Ph paper is made from the petals of crushed flowers which change color specifically related to ph!!...Now That's Too Cool!

By eating raw and sprouted foods over time, you will alkalize the tissues, resulting in an overall balance of your ph. This will lessen the inflamatory response and reduce inflamation and pain....Check It Out!...This means quit drinking those sports drinks and sodas as they contain outrageous amounts of "high-fructose corn syrup and carbonation (turns into phosphoric acid) which will < your overall acidity and leach calcium from the bones to maintain a proper blood ph balance.

If you need info on how to get ph paper and products to help to balance your ph...drop me an email!:lol

When I ment raw, I should have qualified this by meaning "sprouted" or living. Read the works of Anne Wigmore on "living food diets". These are wonderful for realkalizing the body...and of course we can test the kidneys for acidity but all must understand the "intelligence" of the body is to maintain the best possible ph of the organs possible by pushing the acids out towards the extremities so as not to jepardize the health and well-being of the vital organs so the most concentrated acids are always resting in the extremities / joints...as it gout and chronic arthritis.

All the items you mentioned in your list of toxic foods are found in their raw and dormant state. Through the process of sprouting seeds and nuts, from their inactive and dormant state to predigested, proteins and enzymatically active nutrients, we are offering up a rejuvenating and nutritionally compatible source of food.

All one needs to do is to get a book on the homeopathic, "Biochemic Cell Salts" and read how these 12 ancient healing salts will offer up and rebalance the overall health of the individual.

The value of these 12-basic biochemical constituents, which make up each and every cell we posssess (in differing amounts depending upon the job of tissues and organ-specific cells these salts represent)
Specifically, the cell salt natrum phosphoricum (sodium phosphate), has a keynote or profile for: Ailments with excess of acidity This can come from the ingestion of too much sugar and the storing of too much lactic acid...some of the other associated symptoms include: Cracking of the joints, Rheumatism of the knee joint, aching in the wrist and finger joints, hamstrings sore, synovial crepitation (noisy and creaky joints)

And the list goes on and on...the fastest, most inexpensive and effective natural remedy for gout and a host of other acute and chronic degenerative issues is to study and become familiar with "Nature's Healing Salts". A great way to change the overall biochemical organization of the body...without toxic side-effects.

I'm stepping out of this particular board's discussions. I've read the rules for this board that were posted recently, I really doubt I'll be into the spirit of the intent here, and I doubt my input would be or has been welcome. Therefore I've deleted my posts, and washed my hands of it.

Thank you Jason
