Ricks already given me some good points on seisan :)

We must be patient with Bill he's a busy man. I'm still waiting for him to answer my guestions about taking the drills to the next level.

Then we are waiting for pepper spray "the movie" and then he has mentioned filming his kata on more than on occassion so he's got a lot on his plate.

Throw that in with wife, kids , job, not to mention the demands of being a man magnet.

I don't know where he finds the time. Bill must have excellent time management skills to accomplish all of this.

With such skills I'm sure sooner or later he will be true to his word Marcus.

Very nice looking Seisan Laird. You have a great flow to it that removes any pauses and rigidity while keeping the power. There is definitely the influence from Rick in it. :D 8)

Right on, Laird!

You are doing a great job of trying to harness your natural strength and rounding out your Kata.

When these two things combine the power of your strikes will be far more than you would ever expect.

Just ask anyone Randy hits in conditioning. He has really become loose and flowing in his strike and that allows his strength to be fully utilized.

See folks.

No one is going to rip you or I will throw their butts out of here.

Constructive well intentioned corrective comments are very acceptable and the people posting are actually looking for them.

The other reason is that there are so many different approaches to how to do Uechi out there that it would be marvellous to see it all.

So, folks, join in the fun!!!!! :D

Laird, I am glad that you told me you are coming so I can prepare by stepping in front of moving cars to condition myself. :D

I wouldn't want to deprive you the opportunity to beating the crap out of me. Last time was a riot even though I chewed Tylenol for a couple of days. :D 8O

I very much enjoy working with someone of your intensity. I think it makes Rick wonder about our levels of sanity though. Or insanity as he called it.

See you then and have a safe trip out.

Hey why go around something, you just might be able to go through it.

I'm bringing one of my students with me. You will see how far the apple falls from the tree.

I hear your hitting harder these days Randy, like your need more power. 8O I stocked up on stinky oil, I'll be okay

Great !!! Two Lairds in one dojo?!?!?!?! 8O I might as well call in sick for Thursday now!

That will be great to have one of your students! Has he/she ever met Rick before?

On a side note, my daughter has started again after a two year break. She and I started the same time way back but had to stop for school and study reasons. I don't think the apple fell far there either but I could have a biased view. :)

Hi Laird!
I sneaked a peek at your Seisan on my work computer (hi-speed); just a question:
How long did it take you to get your Seisan to that level?

first trip.

Marcus the Buff Bitch and Kevin would be an interesting match up, I was thinking the same thing. We will have to wait a few weeks.

Neil, Tough question to answer. I learned this Kata from Jim Maloney in the seventies. Was just learning it when I left.

I relearned it via video clips on the forums and via the Bob Bethoney tape that came with Allen Moultons book.

I trained it for three months one winter about three years ago. I started training it again about a month ago. For the past three years my focus has been mostly Sanchin.

But my Seisan kata has changed and evolved , for the past 18 months Rick has spent some time on body mechanics with me . We have not really tinkered with seisan, but the mechanics have crept in.

Long story short...I have no idea  ..not long I suspect.
