It's a goldmine of Traditional Chinese Medicine protocols for all sorts of musculo-skeletal injuries using herbs, plasters, manual therapy, cupping, moxa, etc. It's written by an amazing healer and martial artist who knows his stuff inside and out... Just my cent and a half.

Thanks for posting this book that interested you. I checked it out on Amazon and ordered a copy based on the reviews. There were also some other books mentioned dealing with TCM alternative medicine such as THE WARRIOR AS HEALER: A MARTIAL ARTS HERBAL FOR POWER, FITNESS, AND FOCUS.
I would really like to have more information as to Uechi Kanbun Sensei's involvement in herbal remedies ... were they for healing injuries or general health?
Ginko Biloba and Ginsing may not be household items but they are widely used as is Chinese Green Tea. Is anyone using Chinese herbs for promoting energy and or strength?

Nothing wrong with the green tea. It's high in antioxidants.
However I've read enough about the Ginko Biloba and Ginseng to be underwhelmed. Ginko has issues. It's a blood thinner (it's major function) and could be problematic for some individuals. I used to take extracts of ginseng, but now prefer my Diet Mountain Dew instead. Works better for me...
Rik Lostrito, a pharmacist and Uechika here in the mid-atlantic area, has done a little research on some of Kanbun's herbs. I believe he's growing some of them in his yard. I'll catch up with him and ask him more.
