From a Goju-Ryu practitioner's perspective...

Post by GojuMaster »

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I just wanted to give kudos to the Uechi-ryu community represented here for creating a community environment that supports the growth and understanding of it's practitioners, both beginners and advanced.

I would like to see something similar in the Goju-Ryu community, however, I know that the mere creation of a forum doesn't guarantee the excellent culture the the Uechi-ryu seniors here have helped to foster. I have hopes that one day we will have so many open-minded (and hard-training) practitioners sharing in the same way.

Best Regards,

Russ Smith

Cool looking site you have. Question, why do you have to become a member to download videos? Why not just let anybody download them? I bet more people would use it if they didn't have to sign up first.

There's a few Goju forums if you're interested. Some have members in the thousands. Google it man. Though I'm not sure of the quality.

eric235u,

The main reason is to limit the number of downloads to a reasonable limit. I have a lot of files listed and they are farily high-quality (meaning large), so without a constraint, my server would likely fail during peak times.

eric235u,

Thanks, I am member of a number of forums, and I thought it would be nice to let you know that you have an excellent culture here that I normally don't see elsewhere.

Well if you have your own server (now that's fun!) there's ways to limit the bandwidth used. I've done so with Linux. If that's not something you like consider bittorrent. It works wonderfully. the more people who download, the better it works. Sorry to be a pain, I just like being able to see stuff without giving up my info. But I understand what you're saying...

I'm just a noob here, but yeah that's what attracted me to this forum also. Lots of good folks yapping.
