Are there any Uechi/karate pics/calligraphy/images around that are free to use on websites? I'm making a webpage for the Brandeis Uechi-ryu Karate Club and am looking for something to jazz up our site.
Thanks,
Jeremy

That's tricky...
On the other hand, Brandeis has a fine tradition of excellent karateka. If you have a digital camera, you've got some of the best Uechi martial artists around that you'll find.
Also, check out the caligraphy in George's Uechi Ryu Karate Do. Then... Do you have a Japanese language program at Brandeis? Can you get some folks to put brush to paper and do your own? Paint it, scan it, and go with it. The individual's artistic interpretation of the characters is his/her own, but they do not own the characters.
Just some thoughts... I just think you have tremendouse resources within your grasp right now. Not everyone has what you have.

GEM gave me permission to use the calligraphy from his book on my website as long as it was nonprofit and the pictures were credited. It's still at:

And you don't even need a scanner if you like em (and GEM approves of the use). Also went on a great t shirt.
