I dont know if its all one style but I know a lot of the jumping on the upper torso to do take downs, the triangle sparing movements (one foot forward, step back to center, other foot forward, repeat) at the end is capoeira.

To be fair i think I agree .

I dont see anything diferent in here than praticing a Kumite Drill .

there levels of athleticisim and skill however are much higher than Ive seen in such a drill .

co-operative prearranged drills are just a demonstration , these really are prearranged drills taken to another level .

I'm not sure if that question was towards me. I had no ill intentions. Just pointing out that I don't think its karate. I figured it was Capoeira (Brazillian Martial Art) only because I took it for a few months. And seeing the end of the clip on their triangular movements while standing up is what you do when your in a "sparing" ring. It's more of a dance then sparing

And I currently study Uechi-Ryu

Different for sure...but I liked it. Kata precision with bunkai applications...training as it should be when initially learning two man routines. Makes me think of dan kumite and how crude and akward most performances tend to be. Yea,here, there and everywhere. In my 40 years of Uechi I've been witness to 4 or 5 somewhat impressive demonstrations during Dan testing.
Dan Kumite for many appears to be no more than another obligitory routine for a testing requierment, something only to be practiced prior to a Dan test. Technique goes out the window as most performances tend to be "too Fast" with short, half, choppy kicks...slappy blocks, missed blocks and short unchambered punches. Alot of the time people will hesitate or stop, forgetting where they are at. Some individuals thrash so quickly and hard that I lose where they're at in the bunkai (they repeat it). It,s odd, because many of these individuals do very well or even excell in the other areas of their testing. Just not of importance to many. I like Dan kumite when performed as a "fight" with full and proper technique and much spirit and power with a control obvious through out... Not a free fight but a manifestation of the proper coordination of technique employed in a free fight. Throwing a kick or punch out into the air so your partner has something to deal with so he can move on to the next technique is not the path to reality.
