This is Dave Young's Forum.
Can you really bridge the gap between reality and training? Between traditional karate and real world encounters? Absolutely, we will address in this forum why this transition is necessary and critical for survival, and provide suggestions on how to do this correctly. So come in and feel welcomed, but leave your egos at the door!

What do they teach young-uns in Left Coast schools these days?

It's like this.

..... Heaven vs. hell.

..... Good vs. bad.

..... Right vs. wrong.

..... Hoos :D vs. Heels. :x

Any questions? 8)

ahem...

I was referring to the UNC tarheels shirt being worn in the picture you posted...

I am back and forth quite a bit going to "Tarheel Country" and have been looking at some nice spots in "Cavalier Country" as I pass through the area...

I don't know about the Hoos vs. Heels, but the folks I know are generally either Cavs or Heels vs. Terps...

Meta: Oh, you know the usual;
Panty-Waist 101,
"How to not get blood dripping from your bleeding heart onto your save the whales T-shirts",
Tree-Hugging for effeminate metrosexuals.
"How to spot a mass murder; Then slap his hinney and say No! NO! Bad!.."
"How to marry and then receive spiritual advice from your pet."
"Past life issues workshops"
"Skipping through the bean-sprout-fairy-forest while not stepping on any living creatures going; "Tra-la-la-la-la-la".
"How to ignore reality,"
Tofu cultivation and mutal unisex hair braiding.
You know, the basics...

A "Hoo" is short for a "Wahoo", which is another nickname for a "Cavalier."

The wahoo isn't the fish. It's part of a long chant (Wahoo wah!) which The Cavs do after singing The Good Old Song. See Traditions.

Here's a use of the words in context.

As for the Left Coast education, well... Glad to hear you have options. 8)
