Ha Ha Ha America....

This is Dave Young's Forum.
Can you really bridge the gap between reality and training? Between traditional karate and real world encounters? Absolutely, we will address in this forum why this transition is necessary and critical for survival, and provide suggestions on how to do this correctly. So come in and feel welcomed, but leave your egos at the door!

Hmmm. How about PHDs, patents, Nobel Prizes, top rated universities, GDP... What's not to like?

Problems with China's growth...

Post by chewy »

The problem with China's growth is that it is unsustainable for their current population size and the resources available. Just think of how much resources we (the US) consume per capita. Our consumption footprint is staggering! Now picture a country with 5 times as many people at the same standard of living. The planet cannot support 6 US-sized resource consumers. Something has got to give. I can give you the statistics when I get home, but China is on a frightening growth path.

My point? I would be a little more concerned about what China is going to do when it runs out of peaceful and diplomatic means to feed its economy up to First World status.

The root of all conflict is the acquisition of resources,
and overpopulation has only two cures.

1. War

2. Disease

Expect one or the other soon.

Our earth now has 6.5 billion people.

More bad news..

Most of our brothers and sisters live in the most desperate conditions of poverty.

It appears that as a species, we are ripe for the thinning.

There are some fun ways to better one's lifestyle, that involve movement and physical exercise. I recently got one of these:

You can have a lot of fun splattering paint on your fellow man!

I'd be the last to knock anyone's fun,
So I'll just say, different folks for different folks, and if it feels good, and you don't harm anyone, more power to you!

That said...
Two reasons why paintball is not for me.

1. The paint balls hurt like hell.

2. The people who were at the place where I went were "veterans" who practically live at the paintball park and showed no mercy to newbies like myself.

It was quite the pathetic massacre....

Meta:

That's what one of my friends said, recently. And, yes, they can hurt, man. But, that's why god made padding!

You need to get good padding, and some slide shorts to protect the "gentlemen".

I'll be going with some folks in a few weeks, and I think it might be somewhere private. But you're right, the experienced guys will abuse newbies insofar as general playing is concerned.

Make friends with some and things get better.
