Mary, please come out, and introduce yourself. I have another friend, Janice, who trains with Bob Kehayes and often comes out to Big Leagues when I play there.
The whole band is going to dress up like 70's hippies so it should be fun!
They're even having a best-costume prize!
I hope you like HEAVY rock!

Hey Laird:
Sam Moon!
I did all the keys and co-background vocals on that record!
1982, awesome time.I was in his band 4 years, went to Alaska in '81.
The Snakeye record was '79, I was in that band for almost 4 years including a stint in Toronto, the guys from Saga (Pockets) came down to the Gasworks to see us!
I left Snakeye to join a punk-rock spoof band called "Taboo" ( Clancey's Bar,was the Wyse Owl, remember Carrol the bouncer?)
I'm amazed you found those album covers -- oh well, there's all my seedy past for all the internet to see. WTF!
You must have been there!

Sadly none of my writing is published, so, no, I'm not on Amazon.
(Line left untouched.)
We love sharing our music, that's what it's all about, we're all ex-pro's, now weekend warriors with day jobs. (and Karate for me!)
But we take our band and music very seriously and people really respond to it, I guess because it's truly sincere and "not about us", but the music.
Apart from the original audio clips, our cover stuff is AC/DC, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Doors, Metallica, Pearl Jam -- that kind of material, with some Eagles, Goo-Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20 and even Jimmy Buffet to get everyone settled in early in the night.
Great fun, very rewarding. And loud.
I have some Uechi/musician friends as well.
And, BTW, how's the guitar coming along?

My guitar learning has gone slowly over the last year. The first three months were good - and then I tore a muscles in my left ring finger that took over two months to heal and then...summer...and then my...
Well anyway - suffices to say that Nov 1st is my start date to get back on the wagon, get my callouses back, and find a teacher. I had thought to teach myself and now I think I'd do better with someone to visit every couple of weeks.
Know anybody who takes beginners in DC?

Did you show compassion today?
Ahmed:
I'm sorry dude, but we can't post performances of songs by recorded artists, although that's mainly what we do in our bar shows.
Clubs pay a yearly fee to the publishers for cover bands playing copyrighted material, but websites don't, so we can't post cover material.
How about the next time we do "Woman" by WolfMother I dedicate it to you?
Best I can offer!
