Posting delays

Why is it that one must wait such a long time in order to be able to post repeatedly?

Can this feature be modified?

It slows down the thought process and many people find very aggravating. It was not this way a while back.

What has changed?

incorporated to prevent the computer spammers from overwhelming the forums with phoney registrations. This has been a major problem with all forums for the past few months.

The fix doesn't stop the spammers, but it slows them down.

It also stops editing of posts , so spelling mistakes and unententional mistakes must stand and not be fixed immediately .

was wondering what the reason was

There has to be a way to balance this...soon people will get tired of this and stop posting...user friendly forums need a judicious definition in more ways than one. :)

The challenge indeed is to find the right balance between security and user friendlness.
