The other important ingredient is patience. Tendons can take up to three months to heal from small tears and six months to fully recover from large ones. If you've got scar tissue in or near the joint capsule then that will need to be addressed before you'll see much improvement.

I'd also add regular massage with oil and/or something like tiger balm or icy hot to move more blood through the area - a little bit higher bloodflow will bring the resources your body needs to repair the damange.

And remember that when it starts feeling better in about 3-4 weeks is when you'll be most likely to re-injure it.

I would say longer than that :cry: ..I couldn't do pushups for about a year ,because I'd damaged something, got to take care of your body :wink:
