So with frequent sex being associated with fewer sick days, do I take it that after-sex traditions are changing? ;)

Hey Eva, love the mantra...too funny. Heck, I tried to repeat it...no way.

Bill, love the blow up doll. Guess you can't have that after sex cigarette with that partner around, huh?

When I was first married, I purchased a book on massage therapy that included a rather nice section on intmate massage with your partner. I like that idea because it slows the entire episode down, revs the engines even more, and makes for great quality time that most definitely improves the session.

So....what are some good books you can recommend folks?

Regards,
Vick

Remember this is strictly from a self-improvement, scientific perspective.

George....are we doing okay, so far?

I never EVER understood that. I've been known to enjoy a fine cigar or cigarette on special occasions, but after sex, universally, I want water. Not less oxygen. I won't go too far into my morals, but I never adhered to the whole "no sex before marriage" thing and my experience has been that people want water. Meh.

Edit: I love the lighting and androgeny of the first photo. Very sexy without saying too much.

Well...the true test of Sanchin was to survive GEM's Harem Dojo on Beacon Hill, where predatory hot young women would drift down from the Hill at night and grab the senior instructors for the night.

Then we had the 'harem parties'

Today you do that and will end up full of HPV 8O

The good news is that they now have vaccines for the majority of strains of HPV known to cause cervical cancer. They're encouraging young women to get the vaccine, though for the life of me I don't know why young men shouldn't be getting it as well.

The bad news is all the other "stuff" floating out there. There's HIV, antibiotic-resistant strains of old illnesses, herpes, various crawling critters. etc. Oh and if you make a lot of money, let's not forget the groupies and DNA tests. 8O

It's best to be careful, selective, and at least serially faithful. I also recommend keeping up-to-date with your doctor on the benefits and drawbacks of myriad methods of protection, medications, Rx side effects, etc.

You're a very observant fellow. I was thinking much the same thing when I chose to post it.

I love a photo, painting, or story that allows the viewer to project their own life experiences into it without much thought. Such works of art have universal appeal.

PS...I agree, great black and white photo, Bill!

I was curious....so is that vaccine only good before you start having sex or anytime, Bill?

HPV is a series of viruses which cause "venerial warts." Some are relatively innocuous, and others are not. Some strains of HPV are known to be the trigger for cervical cancer later on in life. HPV is much more prevalent than most people realize. Not everyone gets the classic wart symptoms.

HPV for the most part doesn't "go away" when the symptoms go away. It quietly resides in your body ad infinitum.

If you already have a strain of HPV in you, then the vaccine won't help you for that strain. But it will create antibodies for strains you haven't been exposed to, and offer some protection there.

The bottom line is that all young women should get the vaccine. Men should as well if they want to avoid the cosmetic embarassment, or care whether or not they may be the vector for cancer in the women they love. (The medical community doesn't YET agree with me on HPV vaccines for men.)

Saying "I'm going to be faithful until marriage" doesn't cut it. Most everyone lies about sex. There are no guarantees about your partner's past, or present for that matter. The fact that pap smears are a routine part of every woman's GYN exam says it all.
