Kurosawa definately a master.

A movie made with no special effects, 3 scenes basically, amazing.

Interesting choice of swords. Why did the bandit have a Chinese sword?

Who did the child belong to at the end? Whose story was the true one?

Hah! Part of the mastery of Kurosawa-san in leaving the reader/movie goer with unanswered questions! He is sorely missed.
