Murphy's Rules of War-Part One

Post by JOHN THURSTON »

One of the quirky things about writing here and the internet is that If I start a topic, and do not complete i it, someone else will look it up.

Did you know Michener wrote a war novel.

And what would that have to do with an artificial reef off Florida??

chew on that one. It will be fun.

Murphy's Rules of combat can also easily be looked up, but iit is sort of my job to find things etc etc.

If they other guy knows something exisits, then it can be copied. stolen and/or reseached without fear of failure.

Example: The Atomic Bomb.

The Russians knew it COULD be done and they stole the sectretcs to the lenses design (hi ex) that focus enough force to cause a critical mass.

Murphy's Rules Part one:

1.If the enemy is in range, so are you
2. If you can see the enemy they can see you

(these two aren't always true, but it would be wise to act as though they are)

3. Incoming has the right of way
4. Friendly fire isn't
5, the only thing more accuraate than incoming enemy fire is incoming frieindly fire
6. Don't look conspicuous it draws fire, and that is why they call Aircraft carriers "bomb magnets"
(this has someething to do with your reserach question)
7. there is always a way.
8 Run from the distant ambush, charge the close one, and dig if you can't tell which
9. The easy way is always mined
10. Try to look unimportant,t he enem ymay be low on ammo

Mote to follow (of course)

Michener, scion of an old-line Quaker family, wrote Tales of the South Pacific about WWII in the Pacific. The Rogers & Hammerstein musical was based upon the book.
