We just drove up to Duncan, (just North of Victoria), the city of Totems, and stopped at the Quw'utsun' Cultural Centre. We ate in the RiverWalk Cafe and had what the Wolfman calls fusion food, a tasty mix of traditional and modern.

An excellent place; well appointed with a quiet and refreshing view of the Cowichan River and a menu full of traditional flavours.

We will be going back and will bring friends.

Ted - what a great place! I took a "boo" at the menu and I would definitely be starting off with the Holy Fuzzy Navel and then trying to wrap my tongue around the words on the menu. Everything sounds absolutely delicious!!!! What did you have to eat there?

Don't find sometimes the ambience of the place you eat makes the food even better? I wish there were more pictures on the website - the virtual tour wouldn't work on my computer but I did manage a peek at the wedding gallery and what I saw was very nice.

hee hee - you should try to get a few recipes next time you go! :)

We had the Duck appetizer, (excellent), the sea food soup appetizer, (very good) and the elk salad, (ok).

The garnishes were based on local berries, esp the blackberry and were yummy!

The museum and live carving section with an excellent small stage video presentation is fun too.
