I never liked the idea that someone is left or right brained. Everyone should strive to develop BOTH sides, and if you look at the really successful people out there, MIT physicists and novelists and what not, that's what they do. The guy giving the lecture was a ballet dancer and professor. It's not at all uncommon to find a physician or research scientist that plays guitar.

And it's not that unusual to find a research scientist/martial artist who is helping teach piano to his son. ;)
