I read somewhere recently here on the forums a statement about the students of Kambun that still remain in China. I forgot where or what I read, but I was wondering what is known of them.
Are they really there?
What do we know about them?

I have never heard of ANY contact with students of Kanbun in China. We know he taught there. But my understanding was that when he left, he REALLY didn't want to be found. As far as I know, he cut off all contact.]
It is said by some that his superstition against having his photo taken was just an excuse not to be found after his exploits in China.

I do not recall any discussion of any of Kanbun's Chinese students possibly still being alive in China, I believe you are referring to discussions about a possible surviving student/nephew of Shushiwa who was still teaching in China in the 1990s, and in his 90s if I recall.
