NEB, in my limited and ignorant perspective on the whole thing, the journey that "happened" to me upon delving into the study and practice of martial arts has been one of the most "spiritual" things in my life, and not in warm fuzzy kind of way. I feel like I went down a dark and winding tunnel into some kind of awareness of all the crap that I used to think was "reality", and found out that there was nothing there, but spirit, whatever that might be, or mean to anyone.

But that didn't come from tradition, or belts, or techniques, or skill, or status, or trying to follow anyone. Just my own screwed up way of trying to find the truth through a holistic discipline devoted to violence. :?

Gaaahhhh!!!

Sure, but it's a teaching tool for half-hard/half-soft, say with the Sanchin strikes: Imagine, see, that in this hand you have a beer...
