A sad story...poem of someone I know
Here is a man in a green chair.
He sits and withers as his life wastes away.
Here is a man in a green chair.
Watching the world through the television.
There is no hope, all there is...is pain.
To watch the world wastes his life again.
Here is a man in a green chair.
His daughter waits for his supervision.
All she can do is just to call his name.
As he ignores all her beckoning.
Here is a man in a green chair.
His marriage has failed, but the wife prays for hope.
"Is there anyone at home in the green chair?"
Calls out the wife as she hangs her head in sorrow.
Here is a man in a green chair.
His body has aged and so had his mind.
The daughter is grown and has her own family.
But the man in the green chair is unaware.
Here is a man in a green chair.
The wife's gone to college to pick up all of his slack.
She's worked to the bone but no one knows except for the daughter.
Here is a man in a green chair.
The T.V. is gone and so is the family.
Here lies a man in a green chair.
His time is near and so very lonely.
His mind has forgotten what he ignored.
And the man in the green chair, falls to sleep again.
Here lies a man in a green chair.
He died in his sleep with no happy memories.
He never got to watch his daughter grow.
Or ever got to show how much he loved her.
Here lies a man in a green chair.
His wife is old and sick but still working to the bone.
He never got to watch her grow.
Or ever got to show how much he loved her.
Here lies a man in a green chair.
Resting peacefully in God's hands.
He once again gained his life in Heaven.
But there is no one at home or a green chair to sit in.

Just a poem, eh? Tell that to a poet.
This is something my first Uechi instructor published before he passed away. Or rather his wife had his work posthumously published after his untimely death from unexplained cancer.

For what it's worth, Rad got an undergrad degree (magna cum laude) in English, and an MBA. Both degrees were from Harvard.
