Hi!
Like a lot of schools this week, the school I attend is closed, giving a hard working sensei a well earned eleven day vacation.
During this break, on one evening, I've volunteered to put on a class, for all teens and adults (white to black).
During previous holiday breaks the classes I've taught have concentrated on kata's, kumite's and bunkai's. My thinking being that it helps to scrape off some of the rust and, as it is such a diverse class, easier to keep everyone involved.
That all being said, I'm looking for suggestions on what people out there would like to see if they were attending such a class?
Thanks. dave

- Do things that will help keep people in shape. The holidays are times when personal diets and good habits can go out the window. Your class could be a bridge in-between their "good" periods.
- Do something FUN! It's vacation, damnit! Time to think outside the box. This should be a period that one of my trainers called "active rest." In other words, do something that isn't karate, but is something that will keep your body in shape.
- Work on things that lower stress. The holidays can be stressful times for some.
- Do things that burn calories and take peoples' minds off of life. The holidays can be melancholy times for some.
- Go out for coffee after workout.
