Dr. Glasheen, I was just reading your conversation with a gentleman named Moe concerning the Kadana Yakusoku Kumite. He di a pretty good job at describing it, however the 2x2 break is actually # 8 special add on that we would only sometimes do for larger Demonstrations.. I have attempted to embed 2 youtube videos below that will take you to the proper page. The first is myself and Shinjo Sensei performing a slightly spacial version, and below that is his son Shuichi and Shota Tsukayama performing the regular "taught" kumite as Moe described well except for #7. Number 8 is as he described, however defender is not limited to just a punch as we would usually sweep the attacker and perform a final strike after the sweep much like jiyu kumite. I hope that my first attempt to embed the code for the video works and you all enjoy.

Any videos of the Kadena sanseiryu bunkai? I did it in 2003 in his group and took notes but a video would be better.

Sorry I've taken so long to get to this. I'm in new digs in my new city of employment, and my computer is waiting for a desk that actually I am building this Thanksgiving.
You are most gracious for posting these. Thank you so much.
Give my best to the Kenyukai gang. I've been a Shinjo family fan ever since working with David Finkelstein circa 1977. I've had the good fortune to meet and work out with both Shinjo Kiyohide and Shinjo Narahiro. Great karateka!
