As usual John Rosenthal walks the edge of misrepresentation.
His statistics use "children" from 0-19 years old. The number for 0-14 is ~400 per year and the rest are in the 15-19 year old range which includes the "gang banger" contengent. Also, his numbers include firearms deaths for all reasons... accident, suicide, homocide (even justifiable homocide). So... "
technically" you can't go after him for false advertising. He isn't lying, he's just not telling the whole story... the parts that show the rest of the story. (With all due credit to Paul Harvey)
Also, Rosenthal's continued claims that he's just a concerned gun-owner are getting old. He has a shotgun... bought with a permit that is rarely given in Boston (he got it because he has the political connections) and no one has seen him at the range and no club has him on the roster... He also has said that it's only about handguns when using the tired old 1930's German line about "sporting use only". Obviously has no concept of the real purpose of the 2nd Amendment... But he sure knows how to push his 1st Amendment recognized Right.
This Billboard has been allowed a variance by the city of Boston for way too long. Rosenthal gets special treatment from the city because he puts out the message that they agree with. He never says anything about disarming the gang-bangers. It's not about guns, it's about control...
John Rosenthal... 'nuf said.
BTW, I don't trust the NRA either... They're the largest gun control organization in the country!
