I am often surprised. But I am rarely dumbfounded. I sure was dumbfounded when I saw the new TSA rules allowing things for carry-ons.
Most folks picture a little Swiss Army job that goes on a key chain. But this pic is now a legal knife to carry on an airplane.

So, if five Saudi Arabian men in their twenties, each with a knife this size, wish to board your plane, it's now okay. And, yes, I purposely used an example that might be considered racist as opposed to what it really is - tactically prudent.
I can hone this old knife to a razor like edge. And now I can fly with that puppy. I am dumbfounded.
I have spent the last decade training in knife arts. And the last thirty in Law Enforcement DT. We focused a lot on edged weapons. I also worked as an Airport Police officer (which I'm going back to by the end of the year.) This new TSA ruling is whacky. At least
that doesn't surprise me.
