I try to picture an arabic terrorist on a plane pointing a little swiss army knife at me menacingly, and myself refraining from laughing. Yeah, can't do it.

Glad to see the TSA's unwinding some of the wads it's got its panties in.
Life begins & ends cold, naked & covered in crap.

Interesting,a pen knife in the hands of a sociopath can still kill.

I am often surprised. But I am rarely dumbfounded. I sure was dumbfounded when I saw the new TSA rules allowing things for carry-ons.

Most folks picture a little Swiss Army job that goes on a key chain. But this pic is now a legal knife to carry on an airplane.

So, if five Saudi Arabian men in their twenties, each with a knife this size, wish to board your plane, it's now okay. And, yes, I purposely used an example that might be considered racist as opposed to what it really is - tactically prudent.

I can hone this old knife to a razor like edge. And now I can fly with that puppy. I am dumbfounded.

I have spent the last decade training in knife arts. And the last thirty in Law Enforcement DT. We focused a lot on edged weapons. I also worked as an Airport Police officer (which I'm going back to by the end of the year.) This new TSA ruling is whacky. At least that doesn't surprise me. :)

I often wondered how interesting that job could be. I love airports.

Good for you my friend, maybe you could tell us some 'Airport stories' I bet you have a few.

A lot of measures are put in place , not to protect the population, but to justify expanding Government and enlargeing budgets.

It was fun bringing my samurai sword through Canadian customs 5 years ago for my Iaido dantest. :)
Especially at three o'clock in the morning in Vancouver.
