Just because you're good at one thing - real estate in this case - doesn't mean you're good at something else.jorvik wrote:What do you think...this guy is a property millionare BTW

The "unintended consequence" of the deal with Russia to remove the chemical weapons is to assure al-Assad's grip on power in the country. They will need the cooperation of his government if they are to proceed, and the rebels will only get in the way. And of course this has now been planned out to take over a year to document, secure, transport, and remove/destroy.Valkenar wrote:Not pleased with the Obama administration's handling of it, with the one caveat that if it actually turns out to be an elaborate good cop/bad cop bluff with Russia and they never really intended to involve our military, then that's actually a pretty good strategy and outcome.
The Russians have been maintaining this "the rebels did it" argument with little to no proof to back it up. It allows them to continue to support al-Assad while feigning a position on the moral high ground.jorvik wrote:Well it seems that the Russians have presented evidence to the UN that it was the rebels who used chemical weapons

do you think Obama will be so outraged that they have crossed his RED line that he will stop supporting them and Al Qaeda?
The evidence is available, but nobody wants to hear it.jorvik wrote:But why hasn't McCain given the US's evidence to the UN
I'm not sure it's useful for them to be fussing over this. The Russians have their own issues with Muslim terrorism, Chechnya being the prime example. The two nations are better off as allies rather than opponents in this region. More than a few people commenting on U.S. newspaper websites would prefer that the Shia and the Sunnis kill each other off in some fenced-in country.fivedragons wrote:It's not about the truth.
