Toyama sensei performing sanseiryu. Different performance lines from the ones in Uechi sensei's footage. Use of body dropping rather than stepping. Reasons for the difference? I was asked by a master of another art if this was a more respected version within the Uechi Ryu community. I said I didn't know. The only person I had ever seen do it this way was Toyama sensei. I told him that I understood it to be older than the standard version, and there are obvious differences. He was intrigued. Come to think of it, there is one fella doing it that way on an old black and white clip, on Youtube posted by the IIMAA, of what looks like a tribute demonstration with a whole host of uechika doing seisan and sanseiryu.
